Tips for Choosing a Membership Database

Posted by Kathy Woolever on 6/14/2012 7:46:00 AM

Selecting a new membership database is not something that most of us take lightly. It can be exhilarating thinking about the possibilities that this new technology promises, but also excruciating to work through the details. Often the decision ultimately comes down to selecting the best fit that is affordable and will result in the least amount of upheaval. I recently had the pleasure of addressing a group of association executives in Pennsylvania who wanted some advice on shopping for a new association management/CRM system. Having been a project leader & consultant on many database implementations, I've pulled together lessons learned, key features to consider, engaging staff in the process and using your new tools to engage members. You may find some helpful hints whether you are looking for a new system or trying to do more with the system you already have.
